  • Hosted the first meeting of the association.
  • Adopted formation of committees and hosting of meetings at members’ residences.

2nd President

Mrs. Josephine Ihesiaba
Mrs. Josephine Ihesiaba (1995-1999)
  • Launched the association’s first ever Omurunwa cultural dance.
  • First financial secretary – served in the previous administration.

Mrs. Ihuoma Okwandu

  • Spearheaded a fundraiser that was used to fund maternity wards in several hospitals in the 3 Mbaise LGAs.
  • Adopted the ‘pink book’ by-laws and Women’s Day Celebration.

Mrs. Jane Akponye

  • Organized multiple Father’s Day Celebrations including a trip to Las Vegas.
  • Recognized the importance of having youth and children’s activities.

Mrs. Ada Okezie

  • Launched our formal event uniform (Green George).
  • Showcased a grand celebration of our popular Omurunwa cultural dance.

Mrs. Jacinta Nwoko

  • Launched our first ever Ntozu Oke (Coming of Age) Celebration.

  • Led the association successfully during the covid pandemic by introducing virtual meetings.
  • MFWA became incorporated and the new constitution was written and adopted.
